If anyone’s looking for a good album to listen to for a while, I highly recommend GRO’s Under Fire. Some really great moments on here. Saw them back in September and can’t wait for them to get back on the road!

I’m about 2 years late here, but I’ve fallen in love with another song :)

Had only heard the singles off this album until recently. There’s some really great country songs on here though. Been really enjoying it this week.

So glad to finally hear someone else acknowledge this… it’s not just me!
The place I did my scuba certification does amazing trips like this every year. Can’t wait til I have the $$ to participate in one… sigh.
So recently I’ve been striving to seek, love and accept God in a non-contextual way, regardless of my current circumstances. In addition to this, I’ve been trying to learn to see others more how God sees them, particularly the people I don’t like (which is not many, but the few that made that list have solidly MADE that list). And I’ve been pretty much failing.
A class last night helped me look at things a little differently though. We get so caught up identifying people by the results of our interactions with them, that it’s hard to see someone who’s hurt us as anything other than a bad person. But by trying to accept them with the same non-contextual manner I’ve started approaching God with, it’s a little bit easier to realize that they are so much more than whatever they did to me. And if I broaden my mind enough and can get my head around it, the truth is that they’re just another person out there who has good days and bad days and who’s probably been hurt by others. They are a child of God and therefore have inherent value and are worthy of my love (or at the very least a little patience and kindness).
I haven’t really had a chance to try this out, but it’s definitely a new way of looking at things…
Makes me want to get out of the city and find a long country road… then again, I guess that’s the point behind any good country song :)

Honestly, I like fall, but I don’t LOVE fall. The drop in my power bill is nice, but in general I get a little sad at the idea of having to hang up my tank tops and break out the layers. But this post from The Perfect Palette certainly is doing a lot towards getting me in the Autumn spirit!
I’ll admit, I am getting the teeniest bit excited about changing leaves, fall festivals, roaring fires and Thanksgiving. How about you?!?
